Kevin Owens Wins WWE Universal Championship: Twitter Reacts
What did the WWE fans have to say after Kevin Owens won the WWE Universal Championship?
On WWE Raw, the main event that had been hyped for one week featured Kevin Owens, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Big Cass battled for the WWE Universal Championship. This came about after Finn Balor had to relinquish the belt due to a shoulder injury. He’ll miss up to six months.
Owens, Reigns, Rollins, and Cass all earned the opportunity to be in this match by winning qualifying contests last Monday. This set the stage for Monday’s show, which saw plenty of drama occur in the main event.
The latter stages of the match saw Owens, Reigns, and Rollins left. With the action having gone to ringside, Triple H appeared out of nowhere to Pedigree Reigns. He then had Rollins pin The Big Dog to bring the match to one vs. one.
However, The Game then turned on his two-year protege and hit a Pedigree. He placed a shocked Owens on Rollins to get the successful pinfall. This made KO the new WWE Universal Champion.
Fans flipped out in excitement for the former NXT Champion on Twitter and on how shocking of a moment this was.

The reaction for Owens had mostly been supportive. This goes along with the crowd that attended in Houston, TX. They cheered for him throughout the evening, especially in the opening segment. He received the loudest, most positive response of any of the competitors in the Raw main event. It made it seem like it was his night, which turned out to be the case to close Monday’s episode.
WWE fans are now in for a potential reign of Kevin Owens, being guided by Triple H, for the foreseeable future of Raw. What could happen on next Monday’s episode of the flagship show?
