Bayley Needs to Win at WWE Clash of Champions
By Jay Sichler
After being on the roster for just about a month, WWE needs to start Bayley off right and have her win the RAW Women’s Championship at Clash of Champions.
Last month on the first RAW after Summerslam, Bayley made her long anticipated debut to the main roster. After seeing her other Horsewomen (Charlotte, Becky Lynch & Sasha Banks) arrive last summer, then seeing her best friend Carmella get drafted to Smackdown Live, this was a moment the former NXT Women’s Champion was waiting a long time for.
When she lost to Asuka at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, it seemed likely that Bayley was coming up to the main roster. The question though, was would she go to RAW or Smackdown Live.
Well, that question was answered quickly as she debuted on RAW two nights later, and got a huge pop from the Brooklyn crowd, one of the best any callup has received.
After winning matches against Charlotte and Dana Brooke, it seemed that everyone’s favorite hugger would get a one on one title match at Clash of Champions. Then, Sasha Banks returned from injury and afterward won a triple threat match, which included the Bayley and Dana Brooke.
However, the following week, Mick Foley changed the CoC match to a triple threat, including Bayley into the mix. While the smart money is on Charlotte retaining the belt, WWE should go against the grain and give Bayley her first main championship.
Giving RAW’s newest female a run with the gold would be a great idea, as it would be a shocking and unpredictable move. In recent time, WWE has gotten a bit predictable with title decisions.
Having Bayley win would shock the crowd and would start the young star on a hot start on the main roster. WWE did a similar thing when they first called Paige up, having her win the Divas Championship from AJ Lee. It did wonders for the British star, and could do the same for everyone’s favorite hugger.
Also, with the new star winning the gold, it could lead to Sasha Banks turning heel. She could become jealous and angry at Bayley for stealing her rematch and title, and this could lead to a feud between them. The duo had a classic rivalry down in NXT and fans have been waiting for the two to clash on the main roster.
While many fans had hope for these two to clash in a singles match at WrestleMania it seems more likely that WWE wants to do a triple threat involving Charlotte, or doing a Bayley vs. a returning Charlotte at WrestleMania. So, over the Fall into the Winter would be the best time to have The Boss and The Hugger clash.

As the underdog champion, Bayley could battle the likes of Paige, Nia Jax, and Sasha Banks and then clash with Charlotte in a one on one match at WreslteMania. With so many positives outcomes that could come, WWE needs to give Bayley her first Women’s Championship on the main roster at Clash of Champions.
