Will WWE make history in 2017 by giving their women the opportunity to perform in their own version of the Royal Rumble?

January is Royal Rumble season, and it’s usually one of the most exciting times of the year. Fans everywhere begin speculating on what may happen in the most unpredictable match in WWE. Every year there are countless reports, articles and discussions over who will win or appear in the Royal Rumble match. This always brings WWE some extra fan interest, and it helps push the company forward towards WrestleMania.

For most of its history, the Rumble match has been a male-exclusive contest. Then in the late 1990s, WWE started pushing the boundary with Chyna, and she became the first woman to ever enter the Rumble. A decade later, WWE would so the same with Beth Phoenix, who eliminated the Great Khali following a kiss, and then Kharma shortly after that. Since then, the Rumble has returned to its male-exclusive status.

Some fans have pondered the idea of another woman entering the Rumble match just for the sake of it being a memorable moment. But at this time, the only woman that could do so is Nia Jax, since she’s the only woman big enough to compete with the men. That said, there’s a better alternative. What if WWE put together a women’s Royal Rumble to complement the men’s one?

Here are five good reasons why WWE should experiment with this idea in 2017…
