To close Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, Bayley would win the Women’s Championship.

Bayley had targeted Charlotte’s Raw Women’s Championship for months. She won in nontitle singles matches, but couldn’t come out on top when it mattered, including at the 2017 Royal Rumble. However, this didn’t stop the Hugster from getting another title shot on the February 13 episode of WWE Raw.

Well, Bayley would receive her moment in the main event of the show. This saw her put on a fun match with Charlotte, leading to a controversial finish. Dana Brooke ran to the ring to distract Bayley during her Figure Four attempt, hitting the challenger in the eyes. Then Sasha Banks came down to make the save, using her crutch to take out Brooke and hit the Nature Girl in the chest. One Bayley-to-Belly later, and we had a new Raw Women’s Champion.

This is Bayley’s first WWE main roster title win and her first championship reign since the spring of 2016. She held the NXT Women’s Championship and became the longest-reigning holder of this belt, before losing to Asuka at TakeOver: Dallas.

Now there’s a chance of Bayley walking into WrestleMania 33 as Raw Women’s Champion. However, if we’re going off Charlotte’s booking from the past six months, she always loses the title on Raw, only to regain it on pay-per-view — thus, the “Queen of PPV” nickname. With Fastlane just three weeks away, this could happen again. That could set Bayley up to dethrone the PPV streak at the Show of Shows and get a clean moment under the Florida sun.

In the meantime, Bayley stands as the newest Raw Women’s Champion. Did WWE make this title change too soon or at the right time?
