The Rock Attempted to Call CM Punk After WWE Raw (Video)

The Rock was at the Staples Center to help film a movie, which featured some semantics before it started.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson would be at WWE Raw on Monday night in Los Angeles, CA. However, he did not appear on camera. He did show up in front of the live crowd before and after, though, and got “fired” by Vince McMahon. Rock is there to help produce the film “Fighting With My Family”, a movie about WWE Superstar Paige.

After Raw, the People’s Champ came back out to speak to the fans at the Staples Center and instruct them what to do when the cameras are rolling. In the middle of this, the crowd chanted “CM Punk”, something they also did during the live broadcast; they really wanted to see Punk. So what does Johnson do? He calls him with over 10,000 people watching.

2017, folks. Unfortunately, Punk did not pick up for a good reason:

See the moment below from No DQ, who has other videos up from the filming of the movie:

If only Punk had picked up the phone, right? It would have made this moment even more bizarre, probably angering the WWE officials backstage (if they weren’t annoyed already with Punk even being referenced).

If anyone thinks this is a way of getting the former Straight Edge Superstar back in town, then keep dreaming. Maybe one day… in a galaxy far far away… in 2030?

The call to Punk won’t be seen in the movie, but it should be interesting to see the final product of “Fighting With My Family” when it airs in theaters.
