What will happen at the WWE NXT TV taping from the University of Central Florida campus?

On Wednesday night, WWE NXT will go through its final TV taping — which is taking place at the UCF campus — before NXT TakeOver: Orlando. This show will take place on Saturday, April 1 at the Amway Center in Orlando, FL as part of WrestleMania 33 Weekend.

Heading into the taping, no matches have been confirmed for TakeOver. However, it’s likely we see the card develop with what’s already been announced.

Shinsuke Nakamura is set to make his WWE NXT return, having last been seen at TakeOver: San Antonio. A knee injury storyline was used to take him off TV for the past month, as Bobby Roode walked out of the show with the NXT Championship.

This taping should see Nakamura look to reclaim the title. There may be an obstacle, though — two of them.

On Wednesday, NXT confirmed that Nakamura will first face TJ Perkins. Then Roode will make his first title defense against Kassius Ohno, who recently returned to developmental after three-plus years away. Could this mean we’re getting a belt change? How about a potential triple threat between Nakamura, Ohno, and Roode at TakeOver: Orlando?

As the above tweet from NXT notes too, Asuka will be in action. Her No. 1 contender to the NXT Women’s Championship is being decided on the pre-recorded episode of the show that’s airing at 8:00 p.m. ET. So whoever the winner of Ember Moon vs. Peyton Royce vs. Liv Morgan is, they may face the Empress of Tomorrow at UCF.

The third title storyline may involve the NXT Tag Team Championship. The Authors of Pain hold the belts, but DIY are looking for their rematch, and the Revival are looking for another opportunity. Does that mean we’ll see a triple threat match set up for TakeOver?

The action from Wednesday’s taping can be followed along here around 6:30 p.m. ET. What will be seen on the road to Orlando? Note that the matches aren’t taped in order, so we’ve divided them up into parts.
