Recapping Monday night’s Cruiserweight action and previewing 205 Live.
On Tuesday night, the latest episode of WWE 205 Live will take place. It will be the final episode before Fastlane, which will have the cruiserweights on the show. We also saw these Superstars appear on Monday’s episode of Raw.
First, we saw Noam Dar take on Akira Tozawa, who is quickly becoming one of the most over cruiserweights in the division. Before the match, it was announced that this Sunday at WWE FastLane, Akira Tozawa and Rich Swann will face The Brian Kendrick and Noam Dar. This match will take place on the WWE Fastlane Kickoff Show.

In a solid back and forth match Tozawa was able to pick up the victory using his snap german suplex. The real development happened shortly after the match. As Tozawa was celebrating the victory The Brian Kendricks attacked him from behind. Kendrick was able to use this sneak attack to set up a running kick with Tozawa suspended by the ropes.

According to Akira Tozawa’s “mentor” this attack was part of lesson #3, you need to have eyes in the back your head.

Bam Smack Pow
Following this attack on Tozawa, I’m sure we’ll see more interaction from these two tonight on 205 Live. Without having a match at FastLane, this Sunday, it’ll be interesting to see when and where they finally have their blow-off match. I feel that it will likely end up on an episode of 205 Live in the coming weeks but I could also see it possibly opening up the WrestleMania Kickoff Show. The more exposure you give the cruiserweights to the casual fans that will be tuning into WrestleMania, the better.
The second cruiserweight segment on Raw featured a tag team match between Gentleman Jack Gallagher and TJ Perkins taking on The King of the Cruiserweights, Neville and The Premier Athlete Tony Nese. This match felt somewhat rushed even though it featured the two men fighting for the championship this Sunday. Gallagher was able to pick up the submission victory with a new, and fairly unique, submission as he stared down Neville. The tension between Nese and Neville was apparent perhaps teasing Neville’s next feud.
Now, here’s what to expect from tonight’s 205 Live. During Monday’s show, it was announced that Neville would deliver a “State of 205 Live” address. With rumors of a possible Neville vs Aries could this be a way to plant the seeds for a potential feud? Another Aries package aired before the tag team match this week so Aries should be good to go any day now.

Quick note here on the Cruiserweight Championship itself. It appears WWE has made a minor change to the title as the WWE logo now have the red stripe underneath it much like the WWE Champions and Raw Women’s Championship.
