WWE 205 Live Results: Highlights, Analysis, and Grades for February 28

This week’s episode of 205 Live sets the scene for this Sunday’s title match between Neville and Jack Gallagher.

On Tuesday night, the latest episode of WWE 205 Live took place. This saw the final build before WWE Fastlane, which will have two cruiserweight matches.

The show starts with a backstage interview with Tom Phillips featuring Gentleman Jack Gallagher. Gallagher is asked what he thinks Neville will say in his 205 Live Address. Gallagher says he will likely insult the roster and speak about how his reign will never end as he does so often.

Noam Dar w/ Alicia Fox vs Lince Dorado

Result: Noam Dar defeats Lince Dorado via pinfall

Rating: 2.2 out of 5 stars

The match starts off with a delivery man coming to ringside with flowers to give to Alicia Fox. Dorado was almost able to score a quick roll up victory. Dar is able to grind down Dorado for a while before the luchador is able to put together a string of moves to gain momentum. Dorado looks to be in control after hitting a handspring stunner. Following a kick out by Dar, Lince goes to the top rope but Dar is able to avoid it. Dar hits his running head kick to pick up the win. Dar takes credit for the flowers after the match.

Austin Aries interviews Akira Tozawa

Aries starts off by welcoming Tozawa into the ring. He starts off by asking why he turned down The Brian Kendrick’s mentorship. Akira Tozawa responds by saying he respects Brian Kendrick but that he wants to make it on his own. Aries says he respects that answer then asks Tozawa what he plans to do about the “lessons” he’s been receiving from Kendrick. Tozawa says he wants a fight and he wants it now. Kendrick makes his way out to the ramps and starts cutting a promo. Kendrick says that he won’t fight Tozawa. Tozawa tries to respond but is continually cut off by Kendrick. Just as Tozawa is ready to explode Kendrick says “class dismissed” and walks out.

Tony Nese, Drew Gulak, and Ariya Davari vs TJ Perkins, Mustafa Ali, and Cedric Alexander

Result: Tony Nese, Drew Gulak, Ariya Daivari defeat TJ Perkins, Mustafa Ali, and Cedric Alexander via pinfall.

Rating: 2.7 out of 5 stars

Good to see Cedric Alexander back on 205 Live. Ali and Nese start the match. After a few moments, Perkins gets the tag and goes to work on Nese’s arm. Chaos starts when TJP locks in a cross arm breaker on Nese. Davari looks to break it up with a knee drop but TJP avoids it. With Gulak and Davari on the outside, Mustafa Ali hits a springboard cross body to the outside. Gulak is able to get Ali in a torture rack and drops him with a slam. After more chaos outside of the Ali sets up the inverted 450. Davari is able to put Gulak’s foot on the bottom rope for the save. TJP and Nese get the tags and TJP looks to be in control until Gulak drops him from the top rope. The Premier Athlete hits the Running Nese for the win.

Following the match, Austin Aries tees up another video package for… Austin Aries.

Neville’s 205 Live Address

The title once again has small changes made as the line under the WWE logo is now orange instead of red like Monday night.

Neville starts off by saying that 205 Live was created to showcase the best cruiserweights in the world. Then he follows up by saying they forgot the greatest cruiserweight, referring to himself. He says the championship match with Jack Gallagher will be a public execution, which leads to the challenger entering to call out Neville on his antics. Gallagher says that the ring will never belong to Neville because it belongs to the fans, and says judging by the looks of things its time for everyone to go home and a brawl breaks out. Gallagher stands tall to close the show.
