How to watch Sunday night’s WWE Fastlane pay-per-view online.
WWE Fastlane 2017 is the last pay-per-view before April’s WrestleMania 33 event, which is the company’s biggest show of the year. So everything that’s seen during Raw’s exclusive show should build toward the Grandest Stage of Them All. This goes for the title matches and the mid-card bouts like Samoa Joe vs. Sami Zayn and Nia Jax vs. Sasha Banks.
This is the third year the Fastlane PPV has taken place. It replaced Elimination Chamber in 2015, which has since returned as an exclusive show for SmackDown.
The first incarnation saw Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns main event, with the winner receiving a spot in the WrestleMania 31 headliner against Brock Lesnar. Reigns would win.
In 2016, Reigns, Lesnar and Dean Ambrose competed for the opportunity to main event WrestleMania 32 against Triple H. For the second consecutive year, the Big Dog won.
This time, there isn’t a No. 1 Contender match to main event WrestleMania 33, at least on paper. If Goldberg defeats Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Championship, it’s possible he closes out the Show of Shows with Lesnar next month. Their match is the only one confirmed.
Bayley vs. Charlotte is the other match with WrestleMania implications. The winner will likely defend the Raw Women’s Championship, and may be the show where Charlotte looks to extend her PPV streak (if she wins at Fastlane). Could it be impacted by the Banks vs. Jax match, which will likely take place earlier in the show?
