Who was victorious in the grudge match between Samoa Joe and Sami Zayn?
The Fastlane bout between Samoa Joe and Sami Zayn has not only recent main roster RAW history but some NXT history as well. Believe it or not these two never really mixed it up on the indy circuit but in the beginning of 2016 this pairing went to war on numerous occasions to battle for the right to be the No. 1 contender to the NXT Championship. It was Joe who walked out of that program as the victor but it came with handshakes and mutual respect.
Much has changed since their days in NXT, specifically the demeanor of Joe. Sure, he was a vicious, tenacious beast en route to snatching up the NXT title on two occasions but since his arrival on the main roster has also a devious, conniving edge to himself. As Triple H’s new hired assassin, Joe has laid waste to Seth Rollins, Cesaro, Roman Reigns, as well as Zayn. Now the two will lock horns Sunday at Fastlane with respect on the line. But who would walk out of Fastlane with their hand raised? Read ahead.
Joe started off in charge, utilizing kicks and punches as well a focus on Zayn’s left knee. It was stunning to watch a 280 pound guy move like Joe. It was all Joe early on as he employed a bevy of submissions.

Zayn looked gassed very early at the hands of the Joe beating who continued with the kicks and punches. Zayn had one last gasp and went for the Helluva Kick but Joe countered with modified choke slam. This led to the Coquina Clutch from Joe and an unconscious Zayn led to the stoppage.
