Ranking the main card matches from Sunday’s Fastlane pay-per-view.
This is not going to be easy. Trying to rank the best matches from one of the most lackluster pay-per-view shows in a very long time will not only be difficult, but honestly, a bit painful. Sunday’s Fastlane was a microcosm of all that is currently wrong with the RAW brand. The booking is lazy, the story lines lack reason, and it seems like the red brand has no intention of trying to plan for the future. Fastlane had all of that in spades.
The main event of Sunday’s show proved all that is wrong with the WWE right now. In putting the Universal Championship on Goldberg thus making his showdown with Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 33 a world title match, the company has made it clear that their infatuation with living in the past is still rampant. Wrestlemania 33 will mark the 5th Mania in a row where a part-timer is wrestling for a world championship. With a roster stocked full of young, full-time talent, it’s insulting to not only to those superstars but their fans as well. Truth be told, Fastlane was a colossal waste of time and energy.
But the fact is that the show did happen and thus we should dissect it a bit. Ahead we rank all the main card matches from Sunday’s Fastlane.
