Alexa Bliss Looks Ahead to WrestleMania
The next in-ring segment of the evening deals with the SmackDown Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss. Alongside her friend Mickie James, Bliss decides that this the perfect time to announce her opponent for WrestleMania. Taking a moment to ensure fans that it won’t be Naomi due to her injury, she then lists several other women on the roster who are “undeserving” of a title shot. She goes on a bit longer before Becky Lynch comes out to say a few words.
Telling the champion that she intends to defeat her for the championship, Lynch is forced to turn her attention to Natalya. Arriving on the scene, Natalya also argues for a title shot, and even Mickie James gets involved as well. Tempers flare and a huge argument breaks out until Daniel Bryan makes the save.
Although he wasn’t a big fan of the first “Blissertation” in SmackDown Live history, Bryan reveals that a grand idea has come about as a result of it. At WrestleMania, Bliss will defend her championship against every available female competitor on the Blue Brand. Bliss challenges the decision but it’s ineffective in changing the General Manager’s mind, and as an added twist he books a tag team match between the four women immediately.
Because of Naomi’s untimely injury, this match is likely a way to tie up all the loose ends in the women’s division. Given ample time at WrestleMania, expect these women to leave a lasting impression.
