With Mick Foley out as WWE Raw General Manager, who could have a chance of replacing him?
On Monday’s episode of Raw, Mick Foley would officially be out as the show’s general manager after eight months. This comes after he opened the show to read a prepared statement, until Stephanie McMahon came down to the ring to fire and send him on his way out the door.
The decision didn’t come as a surprise, given how often Foley teased his departure on Facebook. He mentioned his hip surgery in December 2016 and recently made a post, which asked who the next Raw General Manager should be?
Well, with both of WWE’s cable TV shows having authority roles, it would seem the Raw General Manager spot will continue. So someone has to fill in for the Hardcore Legend. Given that we’re so close to WrestleMania 33, it may not come until after the show, potentially the post-Raw.
Kurt Angle will be the popular vote to work with McMahon. He is being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on Mar. 31 and could have a chance at holding a TV role afterward, although, that is just speculation on our part.
What if WWE made Charlotte Flair the Raw General Manager? It would be an out-of-the-box move, but if she’s not going to be in the Raw Women’s Championship picture after WrestleMania 33 (assuming Sasha Banks turns on Bayley), then maybe this is a way of moving her into another powerful position.
How about Rusev and Lana running things? While the Bulgarian Brute is potentially out of action with a shoulder injury, maybe WWE uses the husband and wife duo to run the show as co-general managers.
