Just 12 days away from WrestleMania, Austin Aries addresses Neville on this week’s episode of 205 Live.
With WrestleMania in less than two weeks, there is still only one Cruiserweight match on the card. However, that match is literally the biggest match in this current division’s history. The WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville will defend his title against Austin Aries. Before we get to 205 Live, let’s recap Raw.
Another two segment week for the stars of 205 Live on this Monday’s Raw. The first of these two was as forgettable as it gets. WWE continues to show flashes of potential when it comes to the Cruiserweight division but set themselves back with segments like that of Monday night. The Brian Kendrick took on TJ Perkins. Kendrick won the match with little to no offense besides Sliced Bread No. Two. Not only was this match quick and questionable, it was a match we’ve literally seen multiple times since the start of the division. After the match, The Brian Kendrick hopped on the mic to cut a promo on Akira Tozawa. Kendrick would go on to say that Tozawa left his passport in the locker room last week and he wouldn’t be here today.

The next segment on Monday night was a match between Austin Aries and Tony Nese. A much better match than their counterparts early in the show but it’s still a match we saw not too long ago on 205 Live. Aries picked up the win with his Rolling Elbow and was confronted by Neville shortly thereafter.

Without a doubt, these are the two most established WWE stars of the Cruiserweights on the biggest stage of the year. In a way, this is comparable to Lesnar vs Goldberg. Two big names in the divisions looking to elevate the title along with the divisions.

Now, on to this week’s 205 Live. No matches announced on Raw this week but there was a segment announced. Austin Aries will deliver a “special message” to the champion, Neville. I wish WWE would announce more segments/matches ahead of time as it gives them time to promote the show in general. Announcing things beforehand could attract people that don’t normally watch.
