Matt and Jeff Hardy have reportedly received WWE contracts, which may make their return inevitable.

Matt and Jeff Hardy returning to WWE has seemed inevitable. It didn’t for a time, as they showed up to Ring of Honor’s Manhattan Mayhem event, much to the surprise of everyone. They had been planned to appear at the Supercard of Honor show in April, but nothing else before or after that had been officially announced.

Well, the plan still seems to be the Hardy’s going to the WWE. Pro Wrestling Sheet reported that they have received an offer from the company. Nothing is clear on how this affects the ongoing situation over the “Broken” gimmick with Anthem, or when they could arrive on WWE programming.

The Hardy’s going to WWE seems like it’s a guarantee, but they still have to sign the contracts first, obviously. Once they do that, and it potentially gets reported, then everything can get set in motion.

As for what Matt and Jeff could do, they have the ability to impact either WWE show’s tag team division. Both are in need of quality and fresh legs, which is where these two would come in. Does that lead straight to a Raw or SmackDown Tag Team Championship reign? Possibly, or they could play a similar role the Dudley Boyz played from 2015-16, hanging around the title picture and putting over the younger teams.

Also, if they can use the “Broken” gimmick in WWE, will it work with a different audience? The Brooklyn, Philadelphia and Chicago crowds may love it, but what about outside of those hotbeds? Will they understand and get behind this?
