LaVar Ball has been praising his kids’ future in basketball, but saying they can be main eventing WrestleMania 33?

LaVar Ball has become one of the most outspoken people in sports. None of his sons have even reached the NBA, but they are already a known commodity. This includes Ball saying where he doesn’t want his son Lonzo to go in the 2017 draft, among other comments. The UCLA star is expected to go a high first-round pick.

Well, it seems Papa Ball is taking it to another level by making another bold statement — he thinks his sons can main event WWE’s WrestleMania 33 — if they were professional wrestlers. These words haven’t been confirmed, but they’re spreading as we get closer to the Grandest Stage of Them All:

"Have you seen what my sons can do on a basketball court? It doesn’t matter if it’s Lonzo, LiAngelo or LaMelo — they have the gifts to do anything. That’s baseball, football, hockey, or even that WWE thing. WrestleMania is coming up, right? My sons would close that show and put on the greatest thing those fans have ever seen! Better than that Cena guy or the Undertaker. Us Ball’s can do anything that we put our minds to, just like me defeating MJ in a one-on-one."

Yeah, keep dreaming, LaVar. We have seen athletes jump from sports to the ring, but without the proper experience? They have to take bumps, cut promos and entertain an audience, something only a handful succeed at in all three categories. So to say they can just main event WrestleMania like that? Come on, that’s crazy!

Ball is bold when making statements like this. He’s making his sons have to live up to an immense amount of hype, which may be impossible. The comments had even stuck to just basketball, too, so to start talking about them making it in the WWE and main eventing their biggest show of the year?

You know what’s convenient about the timing of this quote? It came on the first day of the fourth month of the year. That could only mean one thing, right?

Happy April Fools Day! This story is phony, but wouldn’t it be something if LaVar Ball actually thought his sons could headline WrestleMania? Given everything he’s said, it wouldn’t be surprising if these words actually came out of his mouth.
