WWE NXT to Present All New Titles at NXT TakeOver: Orlando

At Saturday night’s NXT TakeOver: Orlando event, WWE NXT will present new belts for each title match winner.

Since WWE NXT introduced the NXT, NXT Women’s and NXT Tag Team Championships, the belt designs have stayed the same. They each have their own, unique design, including the “X” for the men’s singles title, the pink on the women’s and a pretty standard look for the tag teams.

Well, be prepared for that to change as soon as Saturday night. NXT General Manager William Regal announced at WrestleMania 33 Axxess that all new title designs will be introduced at NXT TakeOver: Orlando. These will be given to the winners of each championship match. Ben Axelrod of Land of 10 passed along the news.

That should give TakeOver some extra intrigue and NXT a bit of a different look. A reason for this isn’t known yet, but maybe it was just time for a change. It could go along with this changing of the guard the brand is going through.

One of The Authors of Pain, The Revival and DIY will walk out with the new NXT Tag Team Championship at TakeOver. They are competing for it in an Elimination match.

Asuka and Ember Moon are going head-to-head for the new NXT Women’s Championship, along with their undefeated streaks being on the line. Neither have been pinned or submitted since entering WWE NXT.

In the main event, Bobby Roode and Shinsuke Nakamura will compete for the NXT Championship and its new design. This is a rematch from TakeOver: San Antonio, which saw Roode win the belt off Nakamura.

This should make for a special night for NXT. While the old belt designs will be missed, it should be fun to see what kind of look has been created. Will they look similar to what we’ve seen for the past 3-5 years?
