RAW Tag Team Championship Match: The Club vs Enzo & Cass vs Sheamus & Cesaro
When Gallows and Anderson dethroned Sheamus and Cesaro for the RAW tag titles on the Royal Rumble pre-show on January 29th, it marked a momentous occasion for the winning duo. In capturing a WWE tag team championship they became only the 4th team in wrestling history, joining The Steiner Brothers, The Road Warriors, and The Dudley Boyz, to win both a WWE tag title and the IWGP Tag Team Championship out of Japan. Truly a remarkable accomplishment.
So they head into “The Show of Shows” with history on their side but The Club will have their hands full. Since teaming up last October, Cesaro and Sheamus have been on a nice, little run. They ended The New Day’s record-setting tag title reign in December and have been a mainstay at the top of the division ever since. Enzo and Cass are the young, upstart team who, on most nights, have WWE crowds eating out of the palm of their hand. With all that said, this match is a tough one to call.
When it comes down to it, Gallows and Anderson have been one of the best tag teams in the world for the better part of the past 3 years. That idea alone deserves to be showcased at the biggest event of the year. And although an Enzo and Cass would be a nice moment, the bad guys need to win sometimes as well. The Club retains.
Winner and still champions: Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows
