Intercontinental Title Match: Dean Ambrose (c) vs Baron Corbin
I knew from the start that this feud would sizzle. These guys are perfect for each other as far as story lines go. Ambrose, ever the masochist, and Corbin, ever the sadist, have been viciously duking it out for the past 2 months after Ambrose ended Corbin’s run in the Elimination Chamber. From there it’s been attack after attack leading up to this battle for the IC title. It’s a shame that this isn’t some type of no disqualification match. That would be brutal.
Let’s cut to the chase. Ambrose is a former world champion who deserves to be near or around that level. And if he’s not going to contest for a title, he should be embroiled in a feud that’s a step from a secondary championship. The Intercontinental title is a tool that should be used for a blue chip prospect so the company can see what he does with some hardware around his waist. That prospect is Corbin. Look for him to win but in a nefarious fashion leading to a continuation of a feud that’s really just beginning to peak. They’ll battle for awhile until Dean returns to main event status.
