Mixed Tag Match: John Cena & Nikki Bella vs The Miz & Maryse
Let me start by saying, it’s nice to see Maryse back in the ring again. She is a former 2-time Divas champion and also happened to be one of the best personalities during her in-ring years from 2007-2010. After some nagging injuries plagued her, she was forced to retire. Now, this could possibly be a one and done for her, but just the fact that she’s back and willing to engage in battle is a great sign for her. She’s probably the best female heel on the roster and has been a welcomed sight.
Now on to the match. You know, six years ago Cena and Miz were main eventing Wrestlemania and the fact that they’re paired in this type of match is a bit silly. The Miz is the best pure heel in the company and Cena is the best pure babyface. Just a one on one match between these two with Cena looking to erase his loss to Miz at Wrestlemania XXVII would’ve been a perfect scenario. So there needs to be a specific reason that Nikki has been involved here. After The Miz and Maryse’s hysterical parody of Total Bellas, it’s pretty clear where this is going.
Look for Cena and Nikki to get the win here and for Cena to then get down on one knee and finally propose. Yes, it’s silly, but the WWE has this obsession with their new reality television venture and no problem exposing its talent to it. However, don’t be shocked if The Miz jumps in and ruins this fiasco.
