WWE WrestleMania 33 Results: Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar Highlights

Could Brock Lesnar finally defeat Goldberg in their third and seemingly final encounter at WrestleMania 33?

In one of the most heavily promoted matches of WrestleMania 33, Brock Lesnar will have one last chance to defeat Bill Goldberg. The stakes have never been higher, with the coveted Universal Championship up for grabs. Goldberg has been unstoppable since his return last November, laying waste to both the Beast Incarnate and Kevin Owens.

The first time they met inside the squared circle, Goldberg defeated Lesnar at WrestleMania 20. Their match is widely regarded as one of the biggest letdowns in the event’s history. Both men left WWE following the contest, and it would be twelve years before they were in the ring at the same time again.

Given a second chance to redo their previous exchange, the two athletes met at last year’s Survivor Series to settle the score. Many predicted a Lesnar victory, and in turn him gaining a measure of revenge against his rival. Surprisingly, Goldberg would arise the victor, destroying the Beast in just eighty-six seconds. Just like that, Da Man proved he still had plenty left in the tank.

Angered over the result, Brock Lesnar entered the Royal Rumble intent on eliminating Goldberg. However, the Beast was once again humiliated when he was eliminated with ease by his foe. A short time later, one final match between the two was set for arguably the biggest stage of their respective careers. Tonight, we will see two veterans of the industry inflict pain on one another. Only one man can walk out as Universal Champion, with the only question being who will emerge victorious?

With Paul Heyman beside him, Brock Lesnar was the first to make his entrance here tonight. Looking like a freak of nature even more than he normally does, the Beast looks prepared for a war.

Goldberg is out next, and boy does the Universal Champion appear to be in great shape. Although he’s complained about how much effort it’s taken for him to maintain this physique, it certainly adds to his aura. He looks as good tonight as he did during his first run in WWE.

After the introductions, the two men waste no time tearing into one another. Lesnar strikes first with German Suplexes, but he takes his eye off the game for just a moment. This allows Goldberg to hit the first spear of the night, quickly followed by a second. The action goes to the outside and Lesnar is speared through the barricade. So far so good.

Back inside the ring, Lesnar counters a Jackhammer and attempts the F5. Goldberg counters and flattens the Beast with another spear and finally hits the Jackhammer. Lesnar kicks out at two, dodges a spear, and unleashes Suplex City. He brings the total up to ten before he taunts to the crowd and receives huge reaction. An F5 seals the deal, and a new Universal Champion is crowned here tonight. Just like that, Brock Lesnar is back on top of the food chain in WWE.
