Da Man Decides to End a Historic Career

Although last night didn’t go as well as he’d like, Goldberg can still take comfort in the fact that he produced a solid match. Yes it was a bit shorter than most would expect, but it showed that Goldberg had some gas left in the tank. He was every bit as physical and dominant as he had been all those years ago in WCW.

Wishing to perform one final run for his wife and son, Da Man delivered a performance anyone would be proud of. It was a great superhero run and it produced a great story, yet all good things do come to an end eventually.

With his career appearing to be over for good this time, Goldberg will likely appear on Raw to address his loss. It’s up for debate whether or not the former champion will put over Brock Lesnar in his promo, but that isn’t what’s important.

Goldberg should be allowed one final heart to heart with the fans, thanking them for supporting him during this last chapter of his wrestling career. He defied a lot of expectations and proved his critics wrong, and that is something to be commended for.

Where Goldberg goes from here is anyone’s guess, but it’s safe to say that his tenure inside the squared circle has come to an end. Perhaps now the next stage in the veteran’s life will be to prepare for a possible induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. He has certainly earned the honor, and his headlining of the class of 2018 would draw attention. At the end of the day that’s a decision for the company; here’s hoping that they make the right one.
