WWE Rumors: Shinsuke Nakamura, Other NXT Stars Set for Call-Ups

The latest flurry of WWE NXT stars to the main roster should be expected soon, with the group being led by Shinsuke Nakamura.

The post-WrestleMania shows featuring NXT stars debuting has become a tradition, and potentially will continue in 2017. Stars from Shinsuke Nakamura to the Revival have been dream picks of fans to move to the main roster, as it would give them something new to do and allow a bigger impact to be made in front of more people.

Well, expect those top stars and others to move to WWE’s main roster soon. According to F4WOnline.com, Nakamura, the Revival, Andrade “Cien” Almas and Tye Dillinger are expected to be moved up soon. The shows these stars could end up on was not noted.

The King of Strong Style potentially moving to the main roster comes after just over one calendar year in NXT. He started with a spectacular debut at TakeOver: Dallas in April 2016, following up with two NXT Championship reigns and four headlining spots at these live specials.

The Revival were the first-ever two-time champions in NXT, even before Nakamura and Samoa Joe. They are coming off a feud with the Authors of Pain and DIY for the NXT Tag Team Championship.

Almas is an interesting option to be moved up. He struggled to connect in NXT as a babyface, so the brand turned him heel last fall, and the results haven’t exactly been overwhelming positive. However, Cien has been better as a bad guy, and some of these underperforming NXT acts tend to do better on the main roster. Austin Aries is an example of this, after he never connected with the Full Sail faithful, but has found success with the larger crowds.

Dillinger had a taste of the main roster at the Royal Rumble. He entered at No. 10 in the battle royal and lasted for about five minutes, before being eliminated. The “Perfect 10” act was over in NXT, so can it work on the bigger stage?
