Reviewing Wednesday night’s episode of WWE NXT.

WrestleMania 33 weekend became a spectacular one for WWE NXT. They put on their latest live special, NXT TakeOver: Orlando and sold out the Amway Center. Five matches took place, none of which saw championships change, but most of which were exciting in-ring showings from everyone involved.

Before that event, the latest episode of WWE NXT would be taped. It didn’t feature anyone from TakeOver, except for interviews that appeared on YouTube.

To open this show, Peyton Royce took on Aliyah. Royce had been featured at TakeOver: San Antonio in January, competing in the fatal four-way for the NXT Women’s Championship. She even received a one-on-one match against Asuka. However, the Aussie Superstar has since fallen out of the picture. Was she able to get a win?

Heavy Machinery — the team of Tucker Knight and Otis Dozovic — are on the rise. They “debuted” at the UCF taping with a win, and walked into Wednesday night looking for more momentum. They faced the Bollywood Boyz in the middle of the show.

The main event saw Oney Lorcan face El Vagabundo. This capped off a promising week for Lorcan, as he competed on Tuesday’s 205 Live episode. Would he be able to manage a win over whoever this Vagabundo is?

Let’s take a look at this week’s WWE NXT show, and see if there were any quality takeaways from the usually-limited post-TakeOver episode.
