The RAW Mid Card Division

Highlights of the Division

Kevin Owens finally captured the illustrious United States Championship at KO-Mania 2 but had a major setback by losing in the RAW main event tag team match to the returning Finn Balor. He’ll be facing Y2J in a rematch for the title at WWE Payback at the end of the month. He should be favoured to retain the championship.

Chris Jericho is the Number 1 Contender for the title because he’s owed a contractual rematch for the championship he lost. He’ll face Owens on April 30 at WWE Payback but I don’t see him winning back his title.

Sami Zayn had a legitimate shot of winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33 but it wasn’t meant to be. So he settled with a mediocre win against Jinder Mahal on Monday Night RAW. Sami Zayn is in need of a career defining move by transferring shows at next week’s Superstar Shakeup.

Braun Strowman was eliminated early in the battle royal match at WrestleMania 33 but he stood toe to toe with the newly won Universal Champion Brock Lesnar on RAW. He claims to Brock that he’ll go after him next after he beats Roman Reigns but we’ll see if that’s the case in the meantime.

Big Show will most likely shift into being a part-time attraction, so his mid card status in the division will remain steady for the foreseeable future.

These are the rankings for the division this week.
