Honorable Mentions from Raw

Sami Zayn

Their match at NXT Takeover Dallas is a classic. The 20-minute bout captured everything great about NXT and then some. It not only introduced Nakamura in fantastic fashion as it completely lived up to the hype WWE and NXT built up since signing the star away from NJPW.

It would only make sense for WWE to capitalize on a ready-made feud between these two. They would not need to turn either men heel (since both are naturally faces) because the feud could be completely based off an in-ring competitive rivalry. Both men want to be the best and put on a classic match every time they step in the ring, so let them work.

At the moment, Sami Zayn’s path on Raw is a little unclear. He is kind of lost in the midcard as a fan favorite but a program against his fellow NXT alumni could be something special, no title belt needed.

Brock Lesnar

Paul Heyman would obviously narrate the entire program and create an epic build up to the match. Depending on the route WWE would want to go with this. They could incorporate that two men have wrestled before, in Japan.

Heyman could build up the King of Strong Style in a way we have not yet seen. Paul E. could sell the mainstream masses on this 6-foot-2, 230 pound, 37-year-old mixed-martial-artist from the east, taking down the conquering beast from the west.

Finn Balor

Finn Balor was called up seemingly so fast after Nakamura arrived. They only had one televised match, on regular NXT programming before the former Prince Devitt was on the main roster.

It would be nice to see the Demon King vs the King of Strong Style in a lengthy program over the course of a few months. Story (again) would be secondary to the in-ring product in this scenario but WWE could still allude to the two’s history in of wrestling in Japan.
