WWE: 4 Potential Opponents for Shinsuke Nakamura
By Charles Daye
3. Dolph Ziggler
Most of the criticisms and critiques circling Dolph Ziggler include but are not limited to; he oversells moves and he lacks direction. Well, putting the Showoff in a program against a main event level talent like Swagsuke could fix those problems.
Since his heel turn, the former Spirit Squad member has disparaged the New Era and attacked the likes of Apollo Crews and Kalisto with steel chairs. That is all Dolph has really done in 2017 despite being one of the most naturally gifted wrestlers in the company.
They could build Ziggler as the overlooked talent of the old guard being jealous of New Era talent being handed opportunities he never had. Think of it like this, the two men are only months apart in terms of age but which of these men are treated like the more accomplished veteran?
In terms of major titles (World/Intercontinental/Tag) from their respected promotions (WWE/NJPW), these two men have very similar resumes. Both won multiple world titles, both are five-time intercontinental champions and both have won tag team gold.
Ziggler vs Nakamura would be a good, if not great match. Take away the storyline, these two men should and could put on a five-star match. Right here is where many critics of the former Nicky will proclaim he “oversells” and what not.
However, if there was ever an opponent for the Heel to oversell isn’t it the King of Strong Style? Imagine how devastating a running knee to the corner or a Kinshasa to the Showoff would look.
After the SmackDown after WrestleMania went off the air, the dark match was, in fact, Dolph Ziggler vs Shinsuke Nakamura. So we might see these two superstars going head-to-head following the Superstar Shakeup.
