2. Dolph Ziggler

What happened to Dolph Ziggler? Two Time World Heavyweight Champion. Five time Intercontinental Champion. One time United States Champion. One time World Tag Team Champion. 2012 Money in the Bank Winner. Rolling Stones’ WWE Wrestler of the Year 2014. With credentials like that, where did it all go wrong for Ziggler?

After the Brand Split, he went after Dean Ambrose’s WWE Heavyweight Championship. Though he failed in his endeavors, he did come out looking good.

However, after exiting the championship picture, things just seemed to go downhill. He turned heel, superkicked Jerry Lawler’s heart, lost the Royal Rumble, wasn’t included in the WWE Championship Elimination Chamber, and didn’t win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Though he may be a veteran amongst many on Smackdown Live and an amazing wrestler, perhaps NXT is best for his role in the roster. Amongst the NXT superstars, Ziggler would stick out like a sore thumb, in a good way. Ziggler would be the ring general in NXT and the standard bearer. The stark difference between him and the rest of NXT would make for an interesting NXT Champion.

Of course, it is very likely that this would never happen. But, it seems that current WWE booking have booked the man into a corner. NXT may be Ziggler’s last hope.
