Reviewing Wednesday night’s episode of WWE NXT.

The latest episode of WWE NXT returned to Full Sail University. It’s part of the taping that took place on Apr. 5, with a handful of shows set to air late into the month or May. This will start a new era for NXT, one that is being forced by main roster call-ups and a lack of buzz.

Aleister Black had his first match since NXT TakeOver: Orlando, along with this being his Full Sail University debut. He had a chance to make an impression in front of this smaller group of fans, so did he succeed?

The same went for Ruby Riot on Wednesday night, as she faced one of NXT’s newest signings. Riot made her in-ring debut at TakeOver, teaming and losing with Tye Dillinger, Roderick Strong and Kassius Ohno, against SAnitY. So, two weeks later, how would she look?

The third newcomer would be Drew McIntyre, who made waves by first appearing in the crowd at TakeOver. His signing then became official, and quickly set up his NXT debut.

McIntyre is well-known to WWE fans for his time on the main roster, up until his release in 2014. This allowed him to reinvent himself, including spending time with TNA. So, we had a fresh look at the Scotsman to see what changed over the past few years.

To close off the night, we had Shinsuke Nakamura’s NXT farewell. What did he say in his final appearance in developmental? This, and more, can be seen in our review of this episode.
