The SmackDown Live Tag Team Division

Highlights of the Division

The Usos successfully defended their tag titles against their bitter rivals and walked out as champions in a fantastic match. Moving forward, if the Usos keep drumming along with a string of wins and title defences—they can make this title run the most memorable one in their long and storied careers.

American Alpha surprisingly didn’t get moved to Raw and subsequently lost in their title rematch against the Usos. Feuding with the Shining Stars is a notch below the competition they’ve been facing for a while but it’ll keep them busy in the short-term.

The New Day getting traded to SmackDown Live was much needed as their run on Raw was very stale in the very end. They were beaten decisively by the Revival twice on Raw but now have an opportunity to regroup and focus on capturing the tag titles. They might be in line to face the Usos at the very next pay per view.

The Shining Stars made a huge impact in attacking American Alpha after the championship match was concluded. Shedding their ridiculous persona of Caribbean travel agents would be the first priority before anybody should give them a shot against the former SmackDown Live Tag Team Champions.

Breezango and the Ascension will need to be active and with the new influx of teams that have arrived from Raw, they might get that opportunity. The question is if both teams will be presented as credible opponents or jobbers?

Let’s see the rankings for the division this week.
