WWE Rumors: Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman Taking Place This Summer?

Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman for the WWE Universal Championship seems to be the plan, but for when?

On the Raw after WrestleMania 33, Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman issued a challenge to Roman Reigns, being that they are the only two losses in Undertaker’s WrestleMania history. So, Heyman felt Lesnar and Reigns needed to fight. However, Braun Strowman made his way out instead, challenging for the WWE Universal Championship, but backing away from a fight.

This seemed to set up a future match between Lesnar and Strowman, but with the former having not appeared since, it looks like this will be pushed into the summer. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this is the case, as their Universal Championship match is set for either June or July.

If it’s June or July, then WWE has two options — either the June 4 Extreme Rules pay-per-view, or Bad Blood on July 9. These are the only two Raw-exclusive shows left before SummerSlam (Payback had been the first, until multiple SmackDown Superstars were added).

For the potential outcome of this match, if WWE is really building toward Lesnar vs. Reigns at WrestleMania 34, then this could be predictable. Can they be kept apart for that long, though? SummerSlam is still there to do this bout, so maybe the plan switches to that over the coming weeks and months.

In the meantime, we’ll have a unique feud and match to look forward to, with Strowman and Lesnar going head-to-head soon. It’s a battle of two of WWE’s larger talents, potentially making this a hard-hitting clash. Will it look similar to the matches the former Next Big Thing and Goldberg put on in November 2016 and WrestleMania?
