WWE Payback 2017 Match Card: Seth Rollins vs. Samoa Joe Added

Samoa Joe vs. Seth Rollins is on for WWE Payback, two-plus months after it had been in the works.

Samoa Joe made a powerful debut on Raw in February, attacking Seth Rollins for Triple H. This legitimately injured Rollins’ knee, causing him to leave the ring for the next two months. He returned at WrestleMania 33, defeating the Game in an Unsanctioned match.

With the Show of Shows over, we’ve been on track toward a Rollins vs. Joe match again. They had a mini-brawl during last Monday’s episode of Raw, which left the Architect standing tall.

Well, now their one-on-one is official. WWE confirmed before Monday’s episode of the Flagship Show that this will happen at Payback. It takes place on Sunday, Apr. 30.

"The news was then broken before the April 17 edition of Raw that Angle had sanctioned a one-on-one match between the two Superstars at WWE Payback. While Rollins has proven he can survive against long odds before, whether he can survive this one as his knee still recovers remains to be seen."

It’s not a surprise to see this be added, and should lead to, potentially, being one of the top matches at Payback. This joins the following bouts:

House of Horrors Match for the WWE Championship
Randy Orton (c) vs. Bray Wyatt

WWE United States Championship Match
Kevin Owens (c) vs. Chris Jericho

Raw Tag Team Championship Match
The Hardys (c) vs. Cesaro and Sheamus

WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match
Neville (c) vs. Austin Aries

More matches should be added on Monday’s episode of Raw, including a women’s bout or two. This could include the Raw Women’s Championship and to determine the future challenger for the belt.
