Highlights of the Division

No sighting of the current WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar at Raw this past Monday night. Without the champ gracing our television screens, the main event contenders don’t have a prize to vine over. This will need to be addressed soon by Kurt Angle and we’ll need to see a number one contenders match for the title. Hell, even Smackdown Live beat them to the punch.

Roman Reigns has had one horrible week. First, he was taken out by Braun Strowman last week and was unable to show up on Raw. The second part was the loss of his brother, who the WWE Universe remembers as Rosie. My condolences go out to Reigns and his family. He might be on the shelf till Payback where he’ll finally get some revenge against the Monster Among Men.

Finn Balor was believed to be suffering a mild concussion last week after his match against Jinder Mahal but he was cleared this week. He made quick work of Curt Hawkins and padded his record with another win. Since he isn’t scheduled for the Payback card, he might be just facing different completion in the meantime to keep himself busy. If Brock Lesnar was around, the Demon King could have been facing him for the Universal Championship at Payback.

Samoa Joe secured a decisive win against Chris Jericho on route to his showdown with Seth Rollins at Payback. It’ll be tough to predict on who will win that match but it wouldn’t be a shocker if Joe walks away the winner. He’s due to collect a victory in a high-profile pay per view match on the main roster.

These are the rankings for the division this week.

WWE Universal Champion: Brock Lesnar (1 Win – 1 Loss)

Contenders

  • No. 1 Contender: Roman Reigns (6 Wins – 6 Losses)
  • Contender No. 2: Seth Rollins (2 Wins – 2 Losses)

Pretenders

  • Pretender No. 1: Finn Balor (3 Wins – 0 Losses)
  • Pretender No. 2: Samoa Joe (6 Wins – 2 Losses)
