2. Akira Tozawa
Akira Tozawa’s booking since being introduced to 205 Live has been quite clever.
By keeping this man away from the shenanigans of Neville and Austin Aries, it’s allowed his popularity to grow as more and more people get pulled into his infection warrior cries, all while he takes on a WWE veteran like The Brian Kendrick.
The Kendrick-Tozawa feud has been long-running dating back before WWE Fastlane, but it’s been a classic case of “student becomes master” as Tozawa turns every single lesson learned from Kendrick around and uses it against him as the weeks go by.
It’s simple television executed to perfection, and it’s led to Tozawa becoming a staple of the division already, as he pulls the wool over the eyes of a former champion.
Having already been established as one of the toughest, most hard-hitting performer in the division – with some of the most debilitating headbutts, suicide dives and snap German suplexes in today’s industry – Tozawa could easily present himself as the single biggest threat to Neville’s WWE Cruiserweight Championship reign to date.
It’s a match that the fans could really get behind, and would really test Neville’s gumption as the face of the division to go against such a tough competitor.
