WWE Payback 2017: Match Order Predictions

1 of 8

This Sunday at Payback WWE will wrap up some WrestleMania feuds and possibly start new ones that lead to SummerSlam

WWE Payback takes place live from the SAP Center in San Jose, California on the WWE Network. When first announced the WWE Payback PPV was supposed to be a RAW exclusive pay-per-view. However, since then two members of the SmackDown Live roster will be competing at the event. Kevin Owens, formerly of the red brand, will defend the WWE United States Championship against Chris Jericho. The other interpromotional match that will be taking place this Sunday Bray Wyatt, who moved from SmackDown Live to RAW, going against the WWE Champion Randy Orton in a non-title House of Horrors match.

As for the entire card itself, there have been 8 matches announced with one on the WWE Payback Kickoff show. Also on the WWE Payback Kickoff Show will be a special episode of Miz TV featuring Finn Balor. Every championship from Monday Night RAW, with the exception of the newly acquired WWE Intercontinental Championship currently held by Dean Ambrose, will be on the line. Obviously, there is a steep drop in a number of matches from WrestleMania, which took place earlier this month, that had 13 but that’s to be expected. Now, let’s predict the match order.

WWE Payback Kickoff Show: Enzo Amore and Big Cass vs The Club (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson)

What a difference four weeks make. This saw Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson were the RAW Tag Team Champions and were set to defend their titles at WrestleMania 33. At the same time, Enzo and Big Cass appeared to be the odds-on favorites to capture those RAW Tag Team Championships as it seemed like everything had fallen into place for the charismatic duo.  Obviously, a win for either team in that WrestleMania match would’ve been a huge moment but, topping the moment when the Hardy Boyz made their long awaited return to WWE is impossible.

Enzo and Cass should’ve moved to SmackDown Live during the Superstar Shake Up and a feud between the Hardy’s and The Club would have been something new and interesting. On top of that, we have seen this match take place on multiple occasions and this seems like a desperate way to get all four of these superstars on the card. Not sure who will win here as neither team can really afford a loss but if I had to make a prediction it would be Enzo and Big Cass.
