WWE SummerSlam 2017: Match Card Projections After Payback

Bayley and Sasha Banks seem to be headed toward slow-burn feud. Things were heating up before WrestleMania 33, as Banks was a little more arrogant than usual. However, their friendship has remained intact after Payback. Does that mean it will last for a while, though?

Bayley seems like an ideal candidate to hold the Raw Women’s Championship until SummerSlam, even with Alexa Bliss lurking. Bliss has proven to be a quality champion from her two stints as one on SmackDown Live, but if WWE wants to go forward with the Banks storyline, then keeping the title on the Hugster makes the most sense.

After what happened at Payback, that means Bayley would have to win back the Raw Women’s Championship. Bliss won it, but with how often championships are changing hands in 2017, it could easily swing back to the former NXT Women’s Champion.

Bayley vs. Banks would be a blood feud between two long-time friends, that have already gone to war before. A second time, though, on the main roster, has the potential to be bigger and better. We’ll see if WWE pulls the trigger on it this summer.
