Later this month, SmackDown Live will present their Backlash event. How will the fallout from Payback and the last episode impact the Blue Brand moving forward?

One of the most surprising results from Payback centered around the United States Championship match. In that contest, Chris Jericho defeated Kevin Owens to win the gold for the second time in his storied career. Because of this, Y2J is heading to SmackDown Live.

Last week, BreezeDango defeated The Ascension to become the number one contenders to the SmackDown Live Tag Team Championship. They will go on to face the Usos in the very near future, with the exchange most likely occurring at Backlash.

Due to the damage he inflicted on Sami Zayn during Talking Smack, Baron Corbin has been suspended. Thankfully for the Lone Wolf, the consequences of his actions have only cost him a week of competition.

With Corbin out of the equation, AJ Styles can focus his attention on Kevin Owens. Although the Prizefighter stood tall during the last encounter between the two, lightning may not strike twice in this situation. Or, as the number one contender to the United States Championship, the Phenomenal One may instead focus on Chris Jericho. Either way, tonight’s SmackDown Live looks to be a productive episode for Styles.

Recently, it was announced that Shinsuke Nakamura will make his in-ring debut at Backlash. The only question is, who will WWE officially announce as his opponent?

Costing Randy Orton his “House of Horrors” match against Bray Wyatt, Jinder Mahal surely feels on top of the world. He mustn’t forget though, the one thing you don’t want is an upset Viper on your tail.

So without further ado, here are DailyDDT’s top four predictions for what will occur on the May 1 edition of SmackDown Live.
