The Enemy of My Enemy…

Two weeks ago, Charlotte Flair earned an opportunity to compete against Naomi for the SmackDown Live Women’s Championship. She earned said chance by defeating the champion on her first night as a member of the Blue Brand. This meant Naomi had a lot prove lost in last week’s main event, as she could ill-afford another loss.

Putting everything they had into the contest, both women showcased their abilities as athletes and entertainers. Neither wanting to come out of the losing end of such a high-stakes match, and so they kept on pushing despite their bodies telling them otherwise. Towards the closing moments, the result was one that could’ve gone either way. However, on this night we weren’t destined to see a proper finish.

Rushing into the ring, the newly formed trio of Carmella, Natalya, and Tamina Snuka attacked the tired and damaged competitors. As James Ellsworth cheered them on, the three women stood above their down prey. Sending a clear message that a new group was in town, it seemed as though new athletes were taking the spotlight in the Women’s Division.

Now that they’ve had a week to recover, expect Charlotte and Naomi to work together for the time being. Whether or not this marks a face turn for Charlotte is unknown, but she’ll definitely have revenge at the top of her priorities. After that, perhaps her and Naomi will resume their ongoing conflict for the title belt. For now, these two rivals need to work together to have any hope of success.
