SmackDown Live will present another edition of their show as Backlash looms off in the distance. Here is everything you need to know heading into the episode:

For the past several weeks, Jinder Mahal has been in possession of Randy Orton’s WWE Championship. The two are set to compete for the title at Backlash, but tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live will likely mark the site of their next confrontation.

In the main event of last week’s show, Kevin Owens defeated Chris Jericho to win his second United States Championship. Now that his rival has left the company for the time being, Owens can focus solely on his number one contender; AJ Styles.

With his one week suspension over, what will Baron Corbin do when he returns to SmackDown Live? Perhaps he will choose to explain the savage assault he delivered to Sami Zayn.

Shinsuke Nakamura is set to make his in-ring debut at Backlash. Although the event is just two weeks away, he has yet to receive an opponent. Hopefully, this is an issue that’s rectified rather quickly.

Fandango and Tyler Breeze delivered a comedic promo which dealt with their upcoming match against The Usos. The duo appears confident ahead of their tag team title opportunity at Backlash.

Since making his debut during the post-WrestleMania episode, Tye Dillinger has won all his matches on the main roster. With Backlash approaching, can we expect to see him compete at the event?

Despite coming to the aid to Charlotte and Naomi, Becky Lynch suffered a similar fate as her allies. Falling to the trio of Carmella, Natalya, and Tamina Snuka, it seems that a new force may be running dominant on the Blue Brand.
