Ahead of the Backlash event this Sunday, SmackDown Live has several big-time matches to entice fans to watch. Here is everything you need to know going into tonight’s episode:

In just five days time, Randy Orton will defend the WWE Championship against Jinder Mahal. Before that encounter though, he must first go through Baron Corbin. The two are set to face one another on SmackDown Live, and the match has the potential to impress.

Speaking of Baron Corbin, his ongoing rivalry with Sami Zayn has certainly picked up steam as of late. With Backlash on the horizon, perhaps this will mark the night where these two finally compete.

AJ Styles and Jinder Mahal are going to meet inside the squared circle their first singles match against each other. Both are eager to gain considerable momentum heading into their respective title matches this Sunday, and so expect these two to deliver an entertaining contest.

While Mahal and Styles faceoff, Kevin Owens will be watching their exchange with a high level of interest. He’s set to defend his United States Championship against the Phenomenal One at Backlash, so you can bet he’ll be looking for any weaknesses to take advantage of.

A few weeks ago, Rusev issued a statement that he wouldn’t return to in-ring competition unless he was granted a title shot. Tonight, he will arrive to receive what he hopes will be a resounding yes to his request.

Over in the SmackDown Live Women’s Division, the ongoing feud with the Welcoming Committee has all the top females on notice. This Sunday, Becky Lynch, Charlotte, and Naomi are set to take on the heel trio. Before doing so, the match will be made official during this episode.
