Follow along with our review of Wednesday night’s episode of WWE NXT.

On Wednesday night, the latest episode of WWE NXT emanated from Full Sail University. It was the last one before Saturday’s NXT TakeOver: Chicago special, so the final build for the show took place.

However, everyone in action on this show will not be part of TakeOver. Those who are competing on Saturday had vignettes or promos air. This includes Bobby Roode’s to close the show.

Roode spoke about Hideo Itami, who he’s facing for the NXT Championship in the main event. Typically on these go-home shows, brawls take place. Would we see Itami come out to fight the former TNA star?

Drew McIntyre was in action. In anticipation of his likely bout with Wesley Blake, McIntyre took on Sean Maluta. How would this latest tune-up match result?

Sonya Deville vs. Lacey Evans would be the women’s showcase of this WWE NXT show. These two are rising stars in the division, and looked to gain momentum at Full Sail. Who walked out with a victory?

Our main event saw Kassius Ohno and Andrade “Cien” Almas go one-on-one. These two aren’t going to be on the TakeOver: Chicago match card, so they had the chance to face each other, and put on a performance, before Saturday. Would they make the most of their opportunities?

Other matches were hyped for TakeOver, including an announcement for the fifth contest added to the card. What would this be?

All this action would be seen on this episode of WWE NXT. Let’s see how everything resulted:
