Asuka Interview

Asuka is interviewed in a car about defending her title. She dodged questions with the famous “next question” line. Then, the Empress gets out of the car, greets fans with a smile and storms off.

Sonya Deville vs. Lacey Evans

Result: Sonya Deville defeated Lacey Evans via pinfall.

Rating: 2.0 out of 5 stars

Evans went from jobbing to getting bigger opportunities quickly. She has a great look and displays potential in her in-ring appearances.

Sonya Deville is former WWE Tough Enough star Daria Berenato. It’s the first TV match where Berenato has competed under this name.

It’s good to see Deville making it this far, especially after being eliminated so early in the 2015 Tough Enough contest. She’s already outlasted the champion, Sara Lee, who got released.

Deville aggressively worked her MMA style into this match, which looked crisp. It’s a good direction for her to go in, playing on her background and being aggressive.

For the first part of the match, Deville looked like she was trying to garner a positive reaction from the crowd. However, that changed after trying to toy with Evans, who made her babyface comeback. While potential is there for the former U.S. Marine, there’s still a lot of work to be done.

Deville joins Nikki Cross as the only two heel women in NXT — if that’s where we’re trying to get the former. That will remain to be seen in the coming weeks and months.
