WWE Backlash 2017: Match Order Predictions

Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Dolph Ziggler

After weeks and weeks of waiting, The King of Strong Style, Shinsuke Nakamura makes his in-ring debut against Dolph Ziggler this Sunday at Backlash. While the wait has been somewhat long, it’s good the WWE decided to wait until Backlash. This match would’ve been fine as a SmackDown Live main event but with no clear path for Nakamura off the bat, why rush things? On top of that, it makes Nakamura seem more like a special attraction. If booked correctly Nakamura could very well become a full-time Brock Lesnar type figure for the blue brand.

I expect this match to be a glorified squash match that showcases what Nakamura can do in the ring. Ziggler is a good choice of opponent as he’s one of the top sellers in WWE and will make Nakamura look good. Obviously, anything but Nakamura picking up the win would be a real shocker. That being said, where would Nakamura go, should be pick up a win? Could he be in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match?
