WWE Backlash 2017: Match Order Predictions

Randy Orton (c) vs. Jinder Mahal

This is a match none of us thought we’d see until it became reality when Jinder Mahal won a 6-pack challenge to become the number one contender to the WWE Championship. To say people were shocked by this move is an understatement. My biggest question about this has nothing to do with why they picked Jinder Mahal to win that match it’s if Mahal was going to be in a WWE Championship feud following WrestleMania, why didn’t he win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal?

The publicity of using Rob Gronkowski in a match and helping Mojo Rawley win is understandable, but unless this was a last minute decision Mahal should’ve won. For me, this match has slowly got more interesting throughout the weeks of build up. They’ve done a good job building Mahal into an actual threat to Orton’s title reign week by week. Because of that, this match has gone from something that should’ve been on during the middle of the card to a sure fire main event.
