Jinder Mahal’s WWE Backlash Win Gets Praise from WWE Superstars
Jinder Mahal not only received praise from the fans, but a positive reaction from the WWE Superstars.
To close the WWE Backlash pay-per-view, Jinder Mahal won the WWE Championship. He defeated Randy Orton, claiming the title in front of over 10,000 wild fans at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, IL.
The title win was Mahal’s first in WWE. He had opportunities before, including going for the NXT Championship in NXT’s infancy. However, he never got the successful pinfall to officially own gold.
The moment was a historic one for the Maharaja and the WWE. They put the belt on someone who no one would have thought stood a chance just one month ago, changing the perception of him in the process.
