Asuka (c) vs Ember Moon

On the NXT TakeOver: Chicago Pre-Show Ember Moon joined Peter Rosenberg, Nigel McGuinness and Charly Caruso and said she could be out up to 6 months. I don’t think NXT would be wasting TV time on Moon if she was really going to be out long term. To go along with that, I don’t think Asuka would’ve pinned both Nikki Cross and Ruby Riot at the same time. By pinning both of them it took them out of the title picture for the time being. Asuka has cleaned out division for basically the second time and has done so with relative ease.

That being said, Moon was the only exception when it comes to giving Asuka a challenge. So it could go one of two ways for Asuka — she puts Moon over and goes to the main roster the next Monday or Tuesday after SummerSlam, or the Empress retains and vacates the title to move to the main roster. Should the latter happen, the Women’s Tournament that will take place later this year should be to crown the new NXT Women’s Championship.
