The WWE Backlash pay-per-view is in the books, so it means we’re one step closer to SummerSlam in August. How could the show’s match card look?

The 2017 WWE Backlash pay-per-view is in the books. It featured multiple title matches, one of which changed hands. The show proved to be a building block toward SummerSlam, which takes place in just under three months.

From Backlash, we received a better look at what’s to come for SummerSlam. This goes for the WWE, United States, SmackDown Women’s and SmackDown Tag Team Championships. Who will hold the belts at the show? How about the No. 1 contenders?

Let’s see how the card looks. This includes Jinder Mahal as the WWE Champion, which is a real thing in 2017:

The Usos (c) vs. The New Day

Since the last SummerSlam match card predictions, we’ve yet to see The New Day arrive on SmackDown Live. At this point, their debut seems like it will take place in June, barring something happening on one of the last two episodes of the Blue Brand in May.

Whenever New Day arrive, they should be a featured player in the SmackDown Tag Team Division. If anything, it should lead to a quick run to the SmackDown Tag Team Championship picture, potentially challenging The Usos, if they still have the belts by the time SummerSlam arrives.

The tag division on SmackDown Live has been mediocre, at best. That’s not factoring in what Breezango have done, which drew rave reviews. But, that may be a blip on the radar. New Day would add credibility to an otherwise weak set of tag teams, infusing some energy after being away for about two months. It will be a breath of fresh air for this and WWE fans, who endured a saturation of the longest-reigning WWE Tag Team Champions ever.
