The Architect vs. The Big Dog

Originally, this final slide was going to discuss the possibility of Finn Balor and Seth Rollins facing one another on Raw. After deciding that neither Balor or Rollins can handle a big loss at this time, the idea switched to Rollins versus Reigns. The two haven’t faced off in a fairly long time, making another contest a must-see attraction. Normally this is the match WWE likes to save for a big event, but since they already gave away Balor versus Reigns II and Bray Wyatt vs Seth Rollins last week, why not give more high-profile matches?

In terms of who would win the match, it really could go either way here. Although Reigns probably shouldn’t be losing that often since he retired The Undertaker, he is still nursing injuries. Losing while trying to overcome considerable pain isn’t something to be ashamed of. Plus, it can be argued that Rollins needs a big win before Extreme Rules. He’s stood tall over Samoa Joe recently, but the Samoan Destroyer has also dished the punishment right back to him. A victory over someone as protected as the Big Dog offers a lot of potential benefits.

If WWE decides that this is a match they want to feature, it’s important that they find something for Balor to do on Raw. What that would entail isn’t too clear at the moment, but perhaps he could serve as a guest commentator during one of the matches involving his opponents at Extreme Rules. Another possibility is for him to compete against another superstar on the roster such as The Miz or a lower-card heel. Whatever decision WWE ultimately makes, the company has a lot of options to choose from tonight.
