Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair vs The Welcoming Committee
Result: Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair win via submission
Rating: 3.75 out of 5 stars
When we return from our first commercial break, Carmella and Natalya are inside the ring for their match. Charlotte Flair makes her entrance to a decent crowd reaction, as do Becky Lynch and Naomi. Once the bell rings, Carmella and Lynch begin the match for their respective teams. The two trade holds and counters for a brief time, but a dropkick by Lynch sends her opponent out of the ring. Natalya tries to offer assistance, however, she is taken down by a dropkick courtesy of Charlotte.
Despite the bad start, The Welcoming Committee is eventually able to inflict damage on Lynch. Frequent tags dominating the action for a while, with Carmella and Natalya doing everything they could to wear down their opponent. It took a bit of time, but Lynch was able to make the hot tag to Charlotte. This led to the former Women’s Champion cleaning house, and it took a big distraction by Tamina Snuka for Charlotte to lose the advantage.
In an attempt to even the odds, Naomi took Tamina out of the equation and stopped James Ellsworth from interfering in the contest. Her assistance gave Lynch the time she needed to lock in the DisArmHer on Carmella for the submission victory.
All in all, the women involved in this match delivered a strong product. They sure would’ve benefitted from a few more minutes of action, but what we saw here was more than adequate. WWE needs to continue to build the animosity between these six women, otherwise, this rivalry will be dead in the water in no time.
