Elias Samson vs. Zac Evans

Result: Elias Samson defeated Zac Evans via pinfall

Rating: 2.0 out of 5 stars

Maybe the info Graves got on his phone was just a way to torture me by keeping him from calling a Drifter match. That’s honestly one of my favorite things about The Drifter – how much Graves hates him.

But anyway, now that he’s here on Raw and has a victory over the Intercontinental Champion, it’s time for Samson to get the Braun Strowman treatment. Up first is Zac Evans, who looks like he’s the love child of TJ Perkins and James Ellsworth.

And it went about as well for Evans as one would expect. I don’t think he’ll be getting a trio of matches against Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title like what happened with Ellsworth, but he did okay for what he needed to do. Of course, that was basically “look like a rag doll and don’t really get hurt.” And Samson looked as strong and as tough as he did towards the end of his NXT run, which was the best he had been. If he can keep that momentum going, he’ll definitely be okay on Raw.

Now for a question, posed by my buddy Matt from the Superkick Foundation: did Samson’s song before the match give us some Extreme Rules spoilers? He said he had to repay the A-Lister’s favor – is he going to hit The Miz on Sunday instead of Maryse? Or, at very least, try to?
